Default French 69 GTO

Found a few pics of a 69 GTO that was sold new in France.

I recall reading that the cars were modified in Europe to make them compliant for European specs.

Neat. I have never seen a data plate like that.

Car has tilt, hood tach and gauges too.

Does it still exist?

A few more pics. Interesting that the 260 km speedo has the look of the 160 mph Firebird speedo rather than the A body version. By the way, 260 KM/hr is about 160 MPH.

Owner claims it’s one of 3 69 gto’s Sold new in France.

Here's a tag from a 69 Bird sent to France

I think they were sent as a package in a wooden crate?
(to be put together over there)

Notice some differences in these two pics, engine color, decal, painted booster, some type of relays on the ds inner fender.... Two different cars or pics taken some time apart....? Body color? may just be the lighting on that note.

Yup, two cars. Didn’t notice it on my phone and without reading glasses. ;-)

One is a convertible and the other is a hardtop. Both were sold new in France

Funny, I was just looking at that green paint in the pic and thinking if you mixed that with the silver-blue paint we all use for 67-70ish engines you’d probably get much closer to the actual factory color .

north, if you were inclined to do a search, I started a thread on the 'actual' Pontiac color as opposed to what we are getting in the rattle cans now. It always appeared to have a greenish tint to me, as you say.
After going through that for a while, I had to eat crow. Long story short, the new paint looked exactly like the un-exposed paint on an original 389 balancer and timing cover I had.
Actually, I found the thread... Unfortunately the pics are missing from the thread. I can probably find the pics if I think about where they may be stored..

If you can, post a pic of an engine part that hasn't been exposed to much heat or light. That's where I found that it was no different to my eye than the Plasti-kote.

Oh well, I just at posted on one of the engine paint links...incorrectly.
