Northwind versus Performer RPM
"If" I can get my engine approved for Vintage racing (new group) I'll have to run a dual plane intake.
What could I expect going from the Northwind to a Performer RPM? 433 cu in, KRE 290 heads, solid roller, Pro systems 950, about 575 hp. Revs easily to 6500-6800 now, good low end grunt too. Got some new 305 heads capable of 7200 ready to install too so I'd port match to them.

I've used both the Northwind and Performer RPM on various engines over the years. The RPM definitely will make more low end torque and HP but starts fading around 6200, at least on the dyno. I believe the RPM is going to hurt you a little HP wise versus your current Northwind, especially at the 6500 to 7200 range your talking about

I think it depends on the tracks you will be running,if speed comes down on the corners the RPM might get you off the corners better but might hurt you on the straight aways. On a oval im sure it would.Tom

Can both be approved?, so you have a choice to match the course.
I've wondered about the CNC?-ported Factory Iron that Mahoney used to run the RA-II bird in the 9s for the FAST effort; http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...14#post5649114 Last edited by Half-Inch Stud; 09-14-2019 at 08:15 AM. |
