LOL......you must hang around with a tough crowd....I sure hope you have the correct # of spot welds on the lower 1/4 panels...rear of wheel ....or they will call you out...😁

I notice that you're also doing the fender extension panels in body color. Debates that I've followed show that to be a Pontiac plant trait. Baltimore cars that I've done and the one I own, along with a Kansas car I owned were black.

I THINK...pretty sure.... he's talking about the piece that fills the space between the front bumper and the fender right below the headlight.

Default FWIW...

As mentioned it is one of those topics that has been repeatetly talked about,
But is a known detail that had variations.

For me, Body Color would be the catalyst for my decision.
I don't think a light color looks right with black ext. But's that's just me.

Cheers.

When my car was painted those pieces were done in body color(Regimental Red). I repainted them black. I've seen the debate on this topic and don't know how my (Fremont built) car came from the factory but the black looks right to me. It seems to make sense that those pieces would match the grille surround.

I agree....mine is Monteago Cream....and I painted the extensions to match the grill surround too.

Have all the gaps as perfect as its going to be. I dont think these cars came from the factory with the near perfect gaps I have.
Hood, cowl and fender line up well as does the deck lid too.
I have my rally II's on with my new bias ply tires. Yes they drive like crap but I love the look
Installing the new windshield and back glass tomorrow.
New bumpers should be here this week
T3 headlights are on back order

Default WOW MOM WOW!

Gaps are perfectomundo. The cowl vent panels are especially hard to get that good. Any secret to it you'd like to share with your fellow perfectionists?

The whitewalls and rallyes are a refreshing look.

A 4x4 block of wood and a BFH go a long way! No tips really just patience.
The car was aligned and panel fitted before being taken apart again for paint so even though the fitment was horrible when reassembling after paint it was good to know eventually it would align again.

Looks fantastic, Dominic! Question for you: When you went through the process of test-fitting the fenders, did you do it with the inner wheel housings attached, too? I'm thinking that's something I'll probably need to do on my car, but wasn't sure if it's necessary.

Thanks Greg
Since the car is blue with a parchment interior
I was staying away from the redline tires
I’m not crazy about the red white and blue captain America color scheme

Karl
I did not test fit the fenders with the inner wheel houses on although it’s a good idea to have the inner wheel houses when you test fit holy because the lower part of the fender by the rocker tends to dart out a bit and if you have the inner fender wells bolted in it will pull that straight as it supposed to be it will also make the gap near the lower part of the door wider for a more accurate fitment

Perfect, thanks! I am definitely experiencing what you describe where the lower portion of the fender juts out a bit without having the wheel housing installed.

Been making progress.
I have the front and rear bumpers fitting perfectly now after countless hours. Front windshield and back glass are installed. The window mouldings are installed too.
I have all the lower rocker mouldings on too and really makes the 67 look great with the iconic large rocker moulding
I also had the seat backs and tops of the doors and interior quarters repainted with correct Parchment paint
I just got my interior from Legendary after waiting almost 6 months due to COVID. Soon It will go to the trim shop
Coming along nicely
