Default 7" LED headlight kit by Dapper - anyone tried?

I've been considering giving one of these light kits from Dapper a try in my 70 Formula. I've seen a couple favourable posts here about the 5 3/4" quads for first generation 'birds but couldn't find anything for the single 7". The company says that the headlight pots may need to be altered to fit. It's obvious that these shells are deeper than a sealed beam so clearance behind the pot could be an issue. There seems to be about 1" to spare on my car. However I am more concerned about having to take a holesaw or tinsnips to the pot because the stock opening isn't large enough to allow the new shell to "seat" far enough into the pot.

Has anyone on here tried these or know of anyone who has?

Thanks for any replies, Dennis.

From the few LED conversion lamps I've seen, the extra clearance needed was for the little cooling fan on the back of the LED. I've wondered whether a person could possibly "remote" the fan and plumb it to the LED with small rubber hose?
Just another crazy idea l suppose...
