Default Starting issues.

Hi, if I connect my timing light and crank the engine should the light flash if the ignition system is working properly ......

Yes and no. The timing light (Inductive type) is only picking up the voltage spike going to the plug to fire it. So if you see that light flash, it may be safe to say that cylinder is getting spark, but is it at the correct time in the power stroke is another story.

If you have trouble seeing the light connect the timing light to the coil wire. It will flash every time the coil fires and the light will be easier to see.
