Question Alt. diode pack.

My battery sometimes starts to loose it's charge when parked sometimes, within hours. The alt. does charge when running but I ran into this type thing many years ago, I'm trying to remember how I checked it, I think I unhooked the wire off the back of alt. and then hooked it up the next day checked to see if the car would start and the battery still held it's charge but I just want to double check.-----Thanks BOB

So you're thinking you've got a voltage draw from the alternator? You can check for a draw either with a multimeter equipped with an inductive amp pick up or, for a less accurate reading, a regular 12v test light in line with the positive battery cable.

Lots of help on line too...
