Default Restrictor plate effects

Wondering how many guys are using a restrictor plate to slow there car down. I am running a 10.00 index so have to kill some et. I made my own from aluminum. Sized 2.00, 1.900. 1.800 1.700, 1.600. I have it below a 4 hole spacer.
I am wondering what effect the plates have on the torque curve. Can it lower the curve and make the convertor flash higher? I have the 1..600 plate now. I am finding the car is 60'ing better. Yesterday I just pulled off some 1.32 60's. Previous best was 1.35 in the summer with no plate.
I have been having a problem with tire shake after installing the coil overs over the winter. I finally got them dialed in last week.

After my last index race I will be taking the plates out to see what it does. I will also take the 200lbs of ballest in the trunk out.

I posted a pic of one of my slips. Just seems like a low 60' for 10.00.

Yes, your thoughts are correct!

Engines don't out right make HP, they produce first a given amount of torque at a given rpm.

Math has to be done to get the HP which is durived by Torque X rpm/ 5252, so less air = Torque.

Less Torque means the motor will push the converter up to a higher rpm before the stall speed is attained, and both of these means the car will be easier to hook up if you where over the edge in the first place on traction.
