Nice GP! It must have been a Big Jackalope to take out the entire lower grill!

Thanks ...
Mystery solved ....found the build sheet inside the passenger side door panel ..in perfect condition still.
Special order color is Canyon Copper...normally an A body color. NA on B bodies and Grand Prix ...unless you pay $100 extra.Click image for larger version

If that 72 lower grill is good, it's saleable, not easy to come by.

Cool, didn't realize they stuffed the door panel with them.

You don't often see a build sheet in such great condition, neat find.

Congrats on finding the build sheet!
Looks like it had a white vinyl top also?
(pic shows brown now?)

Now that I have the car home .....need help finding out what the cloth seat material would have looked like. The seats have been recovered in a really crappy looking vinyl. May just see if I can find someone selling an interior with the button pattern (not sure what it's called off the top of my head). Let me know if anyone has pictures or thumbnails of the original cloth pattern. Thanks

Bruce-

Been watching your thread. What an incredible find, congrats! Can't believe you found such a perfect buildsheet, priceless! A really cool 4 speed GP in a special order color, not sure what else you could ask for. Would be neat to hear the story behind the order when it was new. Is the car pretty rust free?

Jim

Jim ...not much back story on the car. My friend bought from someone in Reno 8 ish years ago.
Car has issue with the rear window channel eaten away ...not perfect by any stretch....but its got potential.
Definitely one of the last few built with a 4spd....March 23 ship date ...possibly the last one made was shipped on April 28, 1971 ...TH400 trans in all after May 1, 1971

Have a '71 GP J, fairly complete no vinyl top solid car that's being parted.
Roof, full 1/4's coming off. Cutoff frame for another body dolly as frame is cracked behind the pass side lower control arm mount.

Will ck the condition of the lower front grille. That 71 GP has its original fabric bucket seat interior. Will be removing the original covers as buckets are in nice shape & equipped with pwr seat back releases. need the covers for patterns, let me know.

Hey Bruce, just saw this thread and have to say congrats on your new GP! Great find! Think I've only seen two manual 69-71 GP's come up for sale in the last 10+ years. Good luck with it and enjoy!
