Came across this the other day. From 1952 on my baptism day. I guess I was ordained to own a Pontiac.

My first ride was in a year old 63 Bonnie ragtop. Dark blue with a blue interior.

My mom rushed our next door neighbor to the hospital to deliver her fourth baby in what is now my '63 Bonneville convert (1969? '70?). I rode in the back, with the three neighbor brothers.

Try fitting four kids across one back seat in one of today's passenger cars. LOL

That was a fun ride. I don't ever recall my mother driving like that again (all the while calling out the window, "Woman! Hospital!").

Wish I had a pic to share, but I'll dig out some from our summer place near the Jersey shore.

First hot rod I ever remember seeing and riding in was my uncle's 66 GTO. I was 4 yrs old in Jax, FL. I spoke to my uncle on his death bed a few years back and I reminded him that his car started a life long love of classic cars for me. He said about the 66, "I wish I'd had a 65". I took it to mean instead of the 66, but I didn't clarify. Now I wish I had. Maybe just a personal preference.

This unmarked garage near me always has a variety of old cars in and out. I should stop by one of these days. Not sure what gives. Place of business? Rent shop time?

Pontiac caused our birth defects , obviously .
I guess back then it wasn't a known risk .
My Gmothers car was only a couple months old , bought new and kept until 1970.

They are addicting.

When I was a little kid I was fascinated with that car. Fathom blue.. white vinyl top.. parchment interior. 428/360 4 speed hood tach. I always thought the big red 428 emblem on the fenders was cool. I used to run my fingers over the fender louvers. One time I did it with a stick and got my ass beat.

This was taken in about 1970.
