says its a boat motor
maybe John Hatch knows something about it,perhaps it was the beta BMFH.

kind of reminds me a bit of the Hole Shot 6 set up

I know its not the Hole Shot 6 engine, as I own that. That looks to have Rochester 2g's, it doesn't look like the intake manifold has any real plenium area, and I have to agree with the idea of it being a boat engine with the forward facing zoomies. And the water coupling on the heater hose connection.

If it is hooked up to a V drive the rear of the engine would be facing fwd and the Zoomies would be facing the rear of the boat....
