Question Problems

I have a 1988 pontiac trans am that i just purchased. The car needed a transmission and I replaced it.It looks great and it is a strong car. It has a tpi 305 from the facory. My problem is that now the speedommeter has stapped working and it does not want to idle correctly. I have changed the fuel pump and fuel filter. What could this be and how shoul I fix it. The speedometer did work after replacing the automatic tranny, but it has stopped now.
Can anyone help?

Do you have a check engine light on?If so I would say it could be a number of things,I would have it hook up to a scanner.
