Its probably a safe guess that the issue was the RA system itself, since the brochures printed in Sept 68 still had incorrect looking systems. The RA IV was probably delayed for the intake.

That's a real beauty...and compared to the black car with the cornering lights, it's a bargain.

It is a 1C Baltimore as my Judge and the serial number is within 1,000 of mine. It looks like a good car for someone. I wonder what the block and heads are dated.

I was thinking the exact same thing last night. After finding the car on ebay I started looking through my PHS sheets since two of my RA cars are both early Baltimore cars.

Turns out my Matador Red RAIII 4-spd GTO is less than 50 serial # away from this car and my 1C Judge is less than 600 apart from it also.

Heard a rumor tonight of a '69 RAIII GTO convertible in a neighboring town. I was at my daughter's ball game and chatting with a Ford guy who knows that I am into Pontiacs. He told me that all he knew about the car was that it's a low-option GTO convert with RAIII, 4 speed, and steep gears like 4:11. He didn't say anything about being a Judge. Original motor is MIA. Sounds rough, but "restorable". He said he would take me to see it and get me in touch with the owner.

I love the look of the car, nice color and no Cordova, only thing is the back, no chrome trim on the trunklid, funny looking fit of the taillight bezels and something is weird with the shape of the quarters as well, maybe a big rear end hit or something?

It looks to me like it's had a trunk floor put in it, unless I'm seeing things there aren't any plugs in the trunk floor, just the indents.

It's possible the tailpanel was replaced also and whoever did it got it off a bit.

Look at the shape of the left quarter, it is not right, the wheel opening lip is wrong as well.

The Verdero car on ebay also has the front fender emblems without body matching paint on the bars. The missing decklid trim does take away from the overall appearance also.

agreed, there's no way that lip is original metal, 68/69 moldings fit like a glove when everythings original.

I strained my eyes on the trunk....I'm thinking those are plugs, just installed upside down and don't have the correct gooped up sealer on them

we all must be seeing things though, he says straight out in the ad:

Original Body Panels, No Rust or Wreck History EVERY! Just meticulously cared for.

I looked at the auction again. You guys are right about the trunk. I'd say a pan for sure and those plugs, don't the repop pans have them already embossed in place? To do it right you need to cut them out and reinstall with the goop? Maybe I'm wrong, it's been over a year since we put the pan in my Judge. The rear wheelwell trim should fit alot better than that too. There has been quarter work there as well.

Also I noticed the grilles are silver instead of the black for hideaway cars. The valence grilles are black so the grilles don't match.

I know we all nit-pick these cars apart but if everything was perfect the price would be higher IMO. Still a really nice car despite the flaws noted on this thread.

Anyone seen any other 69 RA (non-Judge) cars for sale recently?

I find it interesting that on the original window sticker, option 348 is listed as "400 HO" instead of "400 RA". I wonder if this was a plant thing or if all RA III's were still referred to as HO's on the window sticker? The PHS lists 348 as RA.

Anyone have any insight as to when the GTO emblem disappeared from the dashes?

Did you guys catch the oil change card on the dash, dated 94, was from Stan's Performance? That would be Stan Uuben, original owner of the two-tone Nightshade and Ivory 68 GTO that made the show rounds a few years ago. It was featured in one of the magazines. Nice touch.

Yes, it's not on ebay, and it's not done. A freind has a RA III 4 speed, hideaways, 3.90 ST, hood tach, gauges, console, ralley II's. No original drivetrain, NO RUST! It is a driver. Liberty Blue with black guts. He wants 11,000.00. I'm too broke to buy it!

Paul, that sounds like one I'd like to have, but like you, I'm too broke to buy it!

John, the grilles should be silver, black was just for Judge optioned cars. Regular GTO's had silver grilles yet still used black valence grilles.

Paul, the GTO dash emblem was deleted in Feb. I've got the TSB for it. It's on the same TSB as the notification on the rear rocker covers being deleted. I'm sure like everything else it was stock dependent on when it actually got deleted at each plant.

Just noticed the Master Order sheet has the engine option listed as 400 HO, with no mention of RA. At some point this sheet must have been changed to include the RA IV, at that point was the HO changed to RA III? Anyone care to dig through some documents? I'll look when I get back to the shop.
