which car?? the blue ra2 is in the same building. if you are talking about mitchs car, no. his brother and mother had the car finished and put away forever. no amount of money in the world will ever buy that car at least as long as the mother and / or brother are still alive. they kept his 69 camaro and this ra4 and got rid of all the rest.

So what are the build dates of the RA2 cars you have?
why air the tires up? they will just go flat again. as for the build dates, i would have to look to be exact, but if memory serves correctly one is a june and the other two are july.

sorry, no dragstrip, this was pure street racing. most of it, back in the day, where i lived then was just outside the city and had nice new roads with almost no traffic. it was great driving down the road and seeing pure black tire marks covering both lanes and heading the same direction. there was only one turn in to an addition and a church at the midway point of exactly one mile stretch. you could see from one stop sign to the next one a mile away so you didnt have to worry about traffic coming as long as you knew nobody was at the church. the turn in to the addition was one block from the one stop sign. it was just meant to be a race track. almost every night guys and girls would come over and we would sit around talking and working on the cars and would always take something out for a beating.

have often wanted to do a ra 2 vs 4 drag test (fbody style) . like gary, pretty sure my 2 would win, if nothing else, due to ~150lb weight advantage. nearest 1/4 mile trip is 100 mi plus so id need a second driver. any takers to help me out? :-)

Are those original tires from the day seen wrapped up to the right of the RAII in the picture posted?

The top 50 fastest musclecar lists usually have the 68 RAII Firebird listed.

Curious if anyone has ever seen the results of a 68 RAII GTO in 1/4 times, from a magazine article or test (back in the day)?

Jeff

They're out there Scott, but the cats out of the bag on them now.

Got any pictures of the blue one to share Gary?

Sounds ALOT like my early days.
Although i lived 4 miles from US30 Dragstrip , we had 2 places further out with 1/4 mile start/finish lines.
My FB was nearly unbeatable in the top 1/8th.
Would drive guys NUTS every time they'd come back a week later and try again.
2 or 3 would show up and argue who was gon'a be 1st to run me.
Man i was make'n some good $ back then
One night a guy with a 70 Z28 went center to block my pass, so i had to go off the pavement onto the dirt(driver side wheels) to get by him.
He nearly lost it watching me and then eat'n dirt after the pass
Wow, those where some crazy times.
