Default Was there lead in 64 and 65 GM paints?

So I have 2 projects that i am planning on having blasted beside my shop a 64 impala the factory silver/blue metallic and my 65 GTO that was originally red ad someone painted a baby blue-that is just barely there.
The concern with any lead is it would then be on the ground and the shop(and eventually house) is on a well system 185 ft down.

Thanks, I thought so. Then the question is can it leech into the water.

I'm no expert on this but if your well is 185' deep any possible lead to filter down through the earth that deep would be minimal if at all. I would be more worried bout breathing it while blasting than it leaching into the well. The earth is a great filter but chemicals can leach into ground water if large amounts are dumped like farms using glyphosate and chemical fertilizers.

Over time, lead can indeed leach into the water table. I used to test water and have found lead on many occasions. In my area you are required to take precautions to prevent the lead from leaching.
