Default retirement gift

The plant where I retired from knew of my 62 convert. This is what they gave me. It's a friction 62 convert. Excelent shape. I don't know where they found it or who made the case. The Maint. shop guys REALLY knew the car, parts that needed the welding, remaking, macheining etc... The boss even knew. He is a steetrodder. John

Not Tempest specific, but my boxes of parts included old license plate frames from Bonander Pontiac in Turlock, CA.

The cars achieved a unprecedented 25mpg average, Mobile officials investigated and quickly disqualified the whole Pontiac team ( bad news for Pontiac as they were looking forward to the new OHC six to set records.) John DeLorean was embarrassed over the fiasco, but never admitted to having any knowledge of the cheating.
