Just pulled out my 2019 rulebook, it says Rollbar required for cars (including T-tops) 11.49/7.35 to 11.00/7.00
Rollcage 10.99/6.99 or quicker or any car exceeding 135mph.

My memory was way OFF. I thought a bar was good to 10 flat. At 9.99 you needed a cage and at 135 you need a chute.

I believe you have the numbers right ponjohn, stock floor pan 5 point roll bar cars are good to 10.00. Back half frame rail cars I think is 10.99 need a cage.

I thought chutes were a 140. But either way not many tracks enforce the chute rule based on my experience.

Yep my TA suddenly got safer when they went from 11.99 to 11.49! I always wondered if they ever actually used statistical data or just random thoughts on their rules! 78 TA I added enough weight and heavier wheels to run 11.50s in the Texas heat!

Our local track is 1/8th mile and only requires that you run slow than 7.6 something on race days w/o a roll bar IF you are running in the "Street/Stock" Class. You can not run in that Class and dial quicker. On Test & Tune nights they don't enforce the roll bar rule and I've ran bottom 7's in the 95-97 mph range and they never said anything.

Bad news is that they closed down last year after being there since 1956. I started racing there in the mid-1970's with my 440 powered Roadrunner. I was a fanatic and testing parts every single weekend. Didn't even have a trailer, I either drove to the track and mounted up my slicks or used a tow bar and put the driveshaft back in it.

I see the end for many of these local smaller tracks as it takes WAY too much money to keep them open and the land is worth a LOT more to sell off to developers and such........

Sad but true. You're right Cliff. We've lost a couple of tracks around here that are now "McManson" land or strip malls

Vacant ground here is upwards of $10,000 per acre if it's remote and not in a commercial area.

I've been buying up all the land around me since 2003 and just purchased a section behind me last year. Had to pay dearly for it but they aren't making any more of it, and I don't want any neighbors anyhow.

I heard the land our local track was on is going to be "low income" apartments by the end of this year......

You got enough land for a straight 1320 yet Cliff? I'll bring the beer.

Last time I went to grudge night the tech guy looked at the setup and then at me and says you know if you break 11 you're going home? I just laughed bcause the car was a 13.8 runner. I said that's ok this is my last run tonight anyway. Lol.

It depends on the YEAR of the car. Cars built 2008 and newer it is quicker than 10.00 seconds in quarter IF the floor/firewall is not modified. If you have an old car you are out of luck.

Getting close to enough but it wouldn't be very flat so we'd have to use different tires and make it a "hill-climb" instead!........LOL...

Yeah I noticed that little loop hole a while back.

Most of the new stuff is coming off the show room running well under the normal roll bar rule, so they weren't participating at the local tracks.

Funny how they bend the rules to get more cars. Now, as long as they don't exceed 135 mph or dip under 10.0 they are good to run all day with just a helmet. I'm surprised the insurance companies aren't going ape chit over that deal.

Yet us old guys with classics that don't want to cut up their cars and run under the rule are SOL. There just isn't enough of us old car guys running anymore for them to care. Sad, because I don't go to the track to watch new cars run. And they wonder why tracks are closing.

We actually had an old one open back up with new management here last year but they are struggling. They had a lot of problems last year. Couldn't open as much as they wanted and low attendance at some events. Their old timing system went down, which hurt attendance. I went up there and "flashlight" raced. Which was fun, but I would have liked times. This year they spent a bunch on a new timing system and then haven't been able to open as normal. Im rooting for them, but it wouldn't surprise me if they folded.

The "Pandemic" is changing all kinds of rules. Check out the rules for Gateway this weekend.
