Here's what I've been working on over the winter. I installed a 8pt roll bar and got it painted finally. I see why the pros get so much, it's a lot of work. Hopefully I won't have to do another anytime soon LOL. I brushed on rustoleum black hammered paint and happy with how it turned out.

Looks very nice, your gasser is great and helps keep that old Pontiac name out there.

Very cool project. You do good work and I love your two paint mock ups. I like the red one best and I also like the combo of wheels front and back.

Thanks, actually painting the roll bar and crawling around got the most paint on me, not the floor.

The paint scheme pics are old and don't have Cragars anymore. I got some old 5 spoke E/T wheels from PY member Hooter for the front. These are on a steel rim shell with an aluminum center. E/T II's are from the late 60's. I left them unrestored with the patina and they fit the car well lookwise. Here is a later pic

I went ahead and put some lettering and stuff on the car for now although it's still in primer. I still have some fiberglass doors to install to make up for the weight of the rollbar.

I made some fenderwell headers and went to a solid roller combo that should put me mid to low 10's, 9's if I can get some more weight off

Nice work on the headers! And, they look "correct" for a gasser.

Thanks, I thought I was still going to have my old sft deal and built them 1 7/8 to 2". I may build another set down the road all 2" and actually have them coated. These are just painted for now.

I haven't posted in awhile, i'm pretty excited to get the pieces together for the hood ornament, this is actually for a Starchief but loved the lighted indian head.

Love the lighted hood ornament. I need one for in the house, maybe mounted on a big piece of mesquite burl.

What's the car weigh now?

I'm guessing the front/rear weight distribution has gone up quite a bit at the front (less traction at the drag strip) with that heavy ornament!

I think about 3400 with me in it, I've built a Dana 60 and added a chromoly driveshaft for it and may have added a little weight.
