Dont slow down guys, dig out those old photos.

Does anyone from the west know the whereabouts of the 62 SD & 63 (swiss) Grey Ghosts? Cub Colingwood, Greybull, Wyo, a Pontiac dealer ran them and the last I heard that a 90s NHRA Funny Car driver named "Hollywood" somebody had them both.

I would suggest that you talk to Scott! All I can say is I am POSITIVE in my answer NOT like a lot of other people who I will not mention, manage to streach the truth about a lot of these old race cars. These outright lies are going to stop! keep in mind there is NO ONE more disappointed that ME about this whole deal.

I'm glad you posted this, I remember this thread when it was current. There was talk in the thread about the White Lightning car being used as a donar car for the restoration of the Ronnie Sox car. I was at the Greensboro auction when the Sox car was sold and there was talk at the auction about the car being sold might not be the actual Sox car. Wonder what the real truth is? This same "White Lightning" car was on ebay a month or so ago with a buy it now price of 175k. seems to have been a big price drop.Maybe this will get some talk going again

I helped pull the engine and trans out of it when my friend Don (donpontiac on here)sold and delivered it to Don Miller at Penske racing to be used as a parts car to restore a very rusty but real 61 sd car which I believe is the blue Sox car that sold recently.

Bud,
So, what is your take on this car that is presently on Ebay? Do you think that is the body that you pulled the motor out of? Something doesn't add up or am I missing something

My opinion is its a recreation,
Most of the White lightning body was cut up for parts for the other car
I know for a fact the rear frame was cobbled up from ripping the upper control arms loose several times
Judging by sddave's last post of what was left, he had bought what was represented to him as the WL car and his research turned up disappointment as he paid a lot of money for what he bought.
I asked the seller if this was the real White Lightning car driven by Max Sterling and he replied that is what he was told.
Don (donpontiac) and I talked about this a lot at the time, unfortunately he passed away suddenly a little over a month ago, so I'm relying on memory now.
If you reread don's posts it will shed some light on it
