You may want to go visit www.pro-touring.com. Lot's of Camaros and Firebirds
with larger wheels listed. There is even a section of what tire and rims fit on indivual cars with their own backspacing comments. R.P. |

You can run 275/50R-17s on an 8" rim. That's what I have on mine. You can either run Falken's, Nitto's or M&H Drag radials in this size. My backspacing is either 4.5" or 4.75" but my rear is about .75" - 1" narrower than stock.
235/40R-17's on the front. The 9.5" will fit and some folks have run 285's on them. http://www.highperformancepontiac.co...tiac_firebird/ .

I've seen posts say 17x8's w/245's will fit up front and 9.5's w/275's in rear, others say they rubbed w/out minor mods.
I went a little more conservative on mine: I have 17x7 (4.0 b/s) w/235's up front, 17x8 (4.5 b/s) 255's in rear. Front's don't rub, but I think 245's would. Rear's have room and the 9.5's/275's should clear (no mods). |
