Default 1967 326HO??

Hi, I am new to the forum and looking for help with a 67 326HO I may be interested in. What concerns me is the body tag on the firewall. The option codes are 2LGR 3C 4Q 5Y. I believe the third group should have a "M" listed for the 326HO option. However I can not find the code for a "C" that is listed. The car is 4 hours away and have not see it in person, only a couple of pictures. Also would the VIN on the engine block in 67? Thanks!

Thanks. Do you know of any good sites that will help me with the body tag?

This is the area of the data plate, group 3. The only code is a "D". I havn't found another site that has this information. The car suppose to have the original 326HO, posi rear with the one traction bar...

An HO should have two traction bars (actually any 4bbl V8 should get two). There should be HO stripes as well.

I can't find my PHS data at the moment but my engine code is WK and I think there other HO engine codes as well (WR or WU maybe). I can go out and uncover the beast later and get my VIN to check for the HO code. I'll check my head casting #'s too.

It's also nice have the Protect-O-Plate if it is available, it shows the engine # & matching VIN.

Please check your data plate on the firewall. I assume there will be an "M" for the third group indicating the 326HO option. I have a feeling this car I am looking at is not a true 326HO. There is no "M".

Easy way to identify a 326 HO car is the rear axle it will have dual factory traction bars like factory 400 cars had.
6 cylinder cars and the common 326 2 bbl cars only received one traction bar

But the rear end could have been changed out at one time. Shouldn't all true 67 326HO cars have the "M" on the tag?

Order the PHS documents on the car. They will show you the actual otions that the car was built with as well as listing the EUN. If the EUN matches the block and the PHS says it's a 326HO then that's what it is.
