Default Meet Chief!

Picked this guy up at the local Human society recently. Mostly Black Lab, cannot believe how sweat & well behaved he is, it makes me wonder what his story was. Guessing 1-2 years old. Seems like I really lucked out, it has been several years since my last dog, a lab too. Gooooo for a r. i. d. e. ??

Both he and u now have a friend for life. Over my lifetime every animal I got was either from a shelter or a stray.

We have had Labradors ( 2 but not at the same time ) in the past. They are the most well behaved and placid dogs we have had. Also great with young kids.
He looks a cracker. Congrats. Sounds like you and the dog have both got lucky ;-)

I wonder as well. Guess he came up from KY, This goof just does not want to retrieve & a friend theorized that maybe someone who really wanted to hunt him decided to get "a new puppy" I am not complaining

We adopted an older Irish setter 35 yrs ago. Owners said she would not point, that's why they got rid of her. So we took 'Penny' in she was very devoted. She wanted to be with me always. We use to go for walks and cross country skiing in neighbors farm. She did point for me twice although I wasnt hunting. Be patient, lot of good loving times ahead. I know from Penny.

That’s a breed you hardly ever see anymore. My hubby had one as a kid. His name was Casey. Quick story....when Mike brought me home to meet his family, I sat in a recliner not knowing it was Mike’s Dad’s chair only! No one told me, and I sat in it. Casey instantly grabbed my jeans leg and tried pulling me off of that chair. we didn’t get off to a good start, but he didn’t try and bite me.

My wife had a 71 400 Formula. I took Penny to the Dairy Queen with me. She actually wanted ice cream after smelling mine. So small baby cone outside the car. Next time she wouldn't eat it,UNTIL we got in the car. She sat in passenger seat on a towel and ate it! Just like everyone else. She was special!
