Default Pontiac LIght Blue Met Paint

I needed some light blue met paint (dupli-color DE1616) so off I go to O'Reilly and am told they can't get it from their suppliers. I have always bought it there before. Has anyone else tried buying this recently?

I found some online at a different retailer and now I can finish up painting my 455.

It's been hit or miss on availability.
Production affected by covid BS.

I order mine from Nappaonline.com and they send to my local store.
Just did the same for some PC 227

From their website you can check availability at stores by area - I thought you could maybe find it at another O'Rielly's store in your vicinity.

When you follow your link it doesn't even show the DE1616 as being available. I found a site that has it for $6.20 a can plus shipping and posted it in my reply above.

I will see if I can find any at the Moultrie swap meet this coming Friday. If anyone is interested in some let me know. If I can get it for around $6.00 a can I will buy it.

IF you can't find it, consider Rustoleum Hammered Blue. Someone on this forum suggested it a while back and I tried it just for the heck of it. It is damn near identical to the DE1616. https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-72...sr=1-1-catcorr

One of these is DE1616 and the other is Rustoleum. Holds up to heat with no problem.

One of these is in more direct light than the other but I think you can see the similarity...

I recall having to order it myself. I expect you could request it be stocked at your favorite hardware store though?

Do people shy away from Bill Hirsch product because of the cost ($20 can, $30 Quart) or some other reason? I find it has always been of great quality, maybe just a bit glossy which lustres down after some time ?? Has been very durable.

I've never heard anything but praise for the Hirsch products but when it comes to engine paint, $7 or $8 a rattle-can has been ok for my purposes. Basically, run of the mill, nothing special hobby cars. The only reason I ordered the Rustoleum was because I wanted to try it after it was recommended here and I couldn't find any on the shelf at HD or Lowe's.
