Fitzpatrick and Van Kaufman were the best. I always thought some customizer should try to build a Pontiac so it was lower and wider and actually looked like the ones in the ads.

The author of the article in Hemmings, Jeff Koch, is the same guy that did the two part series of my dad's GTO in High Performance Pontiac.

I had forgotten about this until just now:

These are from the "Eyes on Design" concours event in 2009. They had a special Fitz&Van display with the artwork presented next to the comparable vehicle.

We got to keep the poster when it was over.

Art Fitzpatrick and Van Kaufman were the artists that made the Pontiac advertisements. Kaufman did the background and Fitzpatrick the vehicles. I met Art Fitzpatrick in 1999 at the Greenwich Concourse show. My 68 was displayed and he was close by selling prints. He was more than willing to talk with anyone and enjoyed the notoriety. I had a nice talk with him and he signed my brochure.
