I found a good deal on a set of Camaro fenders for my 67 Firebird. Are than any major differences that would prevent them from bolting up? I have re-pop fenders now and I'm really not happy with the fit.
Thanks! |

You will need to drill the holes for the Firebird and Bird emblems. The 68 Camaro has the side marker light in the fender and would need to be filled. Other than that, I think it will work. Maybe someone else with more experience will contribute.

they are virtually the same for the same year car. We have NOS Camaro fenders that came with the '67 Firebird. At least as far as I can tell...they'll work fine.

also the fender extensions are different, the camaro has bumper bracket provisions and the firebird being straight across to where it bolts to the lower portion of the fender.

The fenders are the same. When I bought my NOS ones 17 years ago from Pontiac they were not drilled for emblems or had the Camaro light cut outs. When I inquired about the lack of emblem holes I was told the Camaro and Firebirds used the same fender.
The Camaro uses the header panel in front of the hood which is where the fender to core support gussets mount on the Firebird. And the lower fender extensions are separate so the two 'F' bodies could share the same fender for two years! If you are looking at used original Camaro fenders then as Boater Bill said, you'll have to fill in the side marker opening. DanC

If memory serves me right had to modify the front of the fender above the signal light. Was a fold for the Camaro signal light that had to come down, very minor work

The area that PLAY400 is talking about is for the Camoro bumper mounting bracket, just work the bottom of the fender flat to match the lower extention and it will work.

Standard 67 camaro's will need mod. in the headlight area , rally sport is the correct fit , as the rs had hideaway headlights and the mounting for them is sunken in farther than a standard camaro . Only rs fenders will fit with no mod .
