Default proper internal switch lubricant

OK, specifically I am working on a 1980 firebird defrost switch. Lever is very slow to return to the middle position. Took the switch apart and appears that the grease inside has dried up, (correct me if I am wrong in this thought). I am guessing that the black plastic "slider" that the coil spring sits in and the terminals would both need lubrication ( possibly two types of lubricant). I do not want to "gum up" the switch.

Just clean it out & use a quality dielectric grease sparingly so as not to gum up the switch aging & put it back together & you should be OK.

Default switch

Got it back together and working great. Found out the pivot point of the lever was the main problem. Little WD-40 freed it up.
