We're in the suburbs of Beaumont,. I thought we were gonna make it but no such luck. Currently about 4" in the house. The entire Beaumont/Port Arthur/Orange TX area is under water.and it's still raining.

Checked in with Lloyd last night & again this morning - Sun came out yesterday and things were looking up. Pumps in the levee district are running full blast 24/7 and are keeping up, streets are draining and the house is dry. Shop is not bad and his partner & one employee are there this morning cleaning up. Brazos still has 4 feet to come up and should be at it's high point around 6 this evening but that should fall below the top of their levees and they should be okay. He & Caroline are itching to get out!

My internet just got back up today. I am fortunate I did not get water in the house. Been trying to get to the assisted living facility where my elderly parents are at. They haven't had power for 3 days now. It is located along one of the bayous so roads to there have been impassable. Hopefully I can get there today.

You guys already got the report on Lloyd......lets hope the levees that contain the Brazos River hold up by where he lives.

Bob's house did not fair well. His house got flooded and his family is currently staying in a hotel in the Medical Center area.

Been pretty bad here in this part of the country. I'm just happy the sun has come out today. Thanks for all of your concerns, prayers, thoughts and well wishes.

Two reasons for the flooding. Harvey dumped 51.88" of rain! A new record for any US storm(way higher than Sandy or Katrina). It was very slow moving because of an other low pressure area preventing it from moving off so it just stayed there and pulled moisture in from the Gulf and kept dumping. Trying to get almost a years worth of rain down the creek, bayou and river system is going to cause flooding on it's own. In my area there are two reservoirs built in the 40s-50s to slow water down into downtown Houston. Over 60 years of growth LOTS of houses built down steam. The Dams can only hold so much pressure and level before the breakdown or spill over possibly eroding it as they do. So they have to release water into already swollen creeks/bayous from the rain. Also upstream storms are now adding their water to the mix.

Good news is I have electric at the office, wife retrieved her evacuated horse down in Wharton before it flooded more as it is way downstream. Neighborhood behind me is having water creep up more streets.

That picture and so many others speaks volumes of the paralysis situation in the Houston area.

I still think it's amazing that it's a major major rain event. Not wind but rain is the culprit. These recurring rain events are the new threat to all areas...not just a hurricane or tropical storm.

Building roofs are not designed for these events either. Amazing roof collapses aren't happening in these big warehouse buildings too.

We left our house Tuesday night about midnight, water was 1 1/2 ft deep throughout. Spent the rest of the night in the truck in the driveway. We able to get to high ground about 9am. Got a lot of cleanup/demo. to do and begin the rebuild

Better news coming in from Lloyd - house is still dry, was at work yesterday afternoon/evening getting things cleaned up and already working. Most of what is coming into the shop is going to get totalled but some of it they can fix. Some important records that were stored on lower shelving are lost and the credit card machine & printer were lost so he's hand writing receipts and just taking down card info for now - says he knows all of his customers and that's what you do. Good man right there!

Is he the one that helps/helped on a Pro Stock Bike?

If so he may be at Indy.

But hopefully he is OK and his stuff is OK.
