So sorry to hear. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I had my gallbladder out in 2011 and ever since then every trip to the bathroom was an adventure for me. After putting up with it for three years I finally got a referral to a gastroenterologist and had a colonoscopy. They found 3 cancerous polyps. Doc told me if I had waited till the advised colonoscopy time of 50 years old I would have probably been too far advanced even if I made it to that age in the first place. I was 36. You are never to young for this kinda stuff and I used to be a no doctors type but after that I want to be here for my daughters. I go whenever I feel “off”

In an update to my situation I've been gradually and slowly getting back into the swing. My wife decided she isn't interested in being with a potential invalid and now has left me. I'm now having to sell the house and potentially 1 or 2 cars to get it over with. So I'm having to scramble to get 1 engine finished that's already in the car and a second engine put in the car. I have zero energy to make these types of long days in the garage I used to do, so I'm taking slow tasks one at a time: installed the pulleys and power steering hoses on the box today and about died. Leaning over a car hurts so much still despite the doctors telling me I should be back to normal.

Keep at it and stay motivated is all I can do... getting a hood installed on a car solo is not a fun job even when healthy!

Wish I was closer. We'd be doing burn outs.

Praying for best!!! I had an invasive major kidney stone surgery in 2008. My awesome Dr. Told me I'd be able to go back to work in 2-3 weeks. I worked for a top notch A-hole company at the time. Started working partial days after 2 weeks. Got yelled at because I wasn't doing my job (no one did my job when I was gone, so I came back way behind).
I really didn't fell real well until 3 months passed, and at 6 months still had lingering effects..it just took a long time to get back to normal..

My ex kicked me out, it was her house..best thing that happened in that relationship!!'

I'm still all about post 5!!'n

Your situation sounds tough. Keep your head up, this will all be a big laugh some day soon!!!

That sucks Ben. Good to hear they caught it and it is in the early stages. The operation will get rid of it but don't stop there. Continue on with treatments... yeah chemo. IF you have an MD Anderson Center near you get your doctor to refer you to them. They are the best.... ask Old Goat 67. They saved his wife and for now she's cancer free.

My stepdad had stomach cancer but it was too far advanced. And liver cancer with it. He just gave up and didn't make it, but you sure as hell will. Treatment has come a long way since 1995. You'll do alright. Just stay positive and stick with them and any treatment you have to do. Give up and I'll personally come find you and kick your butt. That's a promise even tho I've never met you.

Wow I can relate to this too. When I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and had to give up policing I went into a dark depression. Then suddenly I came out of it and ran us up 30 grand in credit card debt, then I swung back into depression. I was diagnosed Bi Polar and my wife left cause she was afraid she would end up pushing a crazy man in a wheelchair. My now wife is excellent to me and I couldn’t ask for a better partner. Just stay positive

For those who are interested, after 4 months of chemo and surgery, my CT scan and endoscopy reveals that I am cancer free. I have to do chemo for another 2.5 years and still get scanned every 6 months, but it appears that I'm actually good and going to be just fine. Not that I worried too much... but it sure is nice to hear!

Good news for sure Ben. My father in law was a cancer survivor for 18 years after going through treatment. There's always hope with a bit of faith.

Congratulations. Good for you. I cant imagine the feelings you've gone through. Prayers sent from here. My father had cancer in 1965, lived into his 80s. My mother was a survivor lived into her 90s.
