Default Bolts

What size are these water pump bolts are these that I have highlighted? I need to get some new ones for my motor.

1/2” head, 5/16 course thread. Yours are probably better than anything you can buy, if they’ original GM. I’d keep em!

the issue is I seem to have misplaced them when I took it all apart. Hopefully I run across them but looking for replacements if not.

Our sponsor lists timing cover bolt kits. Picture makes it look like those are only to the block and not the water pump. And may not be the bolts with the six notches in the head. Those are sometimes called "place bolts". Not sure where that name came from but I think I have purchased them from McMaster-Carr in Chicago. Just go to their website and look around.

Paul Spotts has them with the Castle pattern, and longer bolts (like 1/4") are the good thing for some of the holes.

Save yourself some trouble and buy a kit. Mine are a few different lengths.
