To the back of the block, I crisis cross mine (No. 10 lines) . it makes it a little easier plumbing them that way.

You probably have an air pocket that isn’t allowing the water to flow. If you have access to a vacuum fill tool it should take care of the problem. I had the same issue.

I've seen them get an air pocket before the water pump. Letting it sit over night would solve the issue. You can fix the problem by adding a bleed valve at the top of the water pump cavity on the timing chain cover.

I get it all the time after I have drained the water out. I normally crack the fitting on one of the no.10 lines and force air into the radiator!
Sorry I mis-understood want you wanted with my 1st post.

Up close - yes, there's plenty of clearance with the Ford style d-cap to the driver's side rear.

Not an aluminum block. Not dry decked.

Air in the system. Jack the car up and down with the engine running. Also add an air bleed/vent valve at the HIGHEST point in the system. Also make the fill point of the system at the highest point also.

So water doesn’t get into the combustion chamber under load via the deck area. Water doesn’t compress there for .......no boom, boom!

Any chance you have a photo of the other side? Looks like water flows up from the block, into the head but then where does it go?

I thank you.

That is some nice S/S fittings. Any chance pointing us to manufacture or part number?

Thanks

That's a hell of an idea. I always leave the thermostat housing off while filling the rad to let air out of the block and heads.

Thanks
Charles

You can just drill a 1/8" hole in your thermostat and it does the same thing. Thats enough to let out any air while filling and does not effect the thermostats operation.
Done it for years.

Unfortunately that doesn't work on a dry decked application...but that will allow the thermostat to open so you can block the water transfer hole on the timing cover for improved cooling.
