Default Transmission spacer

I am trying to find a Pontiac specific spacer to put a new converter in our transmission Does anyone make one or does it have to be a custom piece?

Th400 trans BOP case

Also if anyone has one laying around they want to sell let me know!

I don't understand your question. Are you trying to put spacers between the convertor and the flexplate?

If you buy an aftermarket adapter from chevy pattern to BOP, you'll have a spacer. Jegs sell them for around $50.

https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/60172/10002/-1

Not sure why you need a spacer, but you can modify it to suit your needs.

Okay I see why you need one. Jegs doesn't give a thickness spec so not sure if that works for your application. Good Luck.

I know it’s a very strange fitment

Unfortunately i can’t say much because it’s not mine to give the information out on but it’s a normal converter

Thanks I’ll call and see if it’s thick enough

You basically need a rear engine plate?
How thick does it have to be?

Just cut it out of a plate of aluminum?
How I did the midplate, just don't use all the extra width?
Trace it on a piece of aluminum and cut with jigsaw.
Half hour of work.

at one time CSR made a carbon fiber tranny shield for a Pontiac application if they still do you might be able to get the steel plate that attached it to the engine.

I tried someone’s converter that was built for a 1/4” mid plate where I had an 1/8” in my car. I just spaced it out with washers. Not the smartest thing to do but it worked for what I wanted to accomplish. Now, when you space the trans back .125” you also need to move
Back your trans x-member or slot it to fit.

Just get a spacer plate laser cut out of steel in any thickness you want, that's how we get our BOP to Chevy trans adapter plates made. I could send you one over but the shipping will be $30-40.

You could buy another midplate and stack it between the other midplate and the transmission.

So the ears are moved forward on this converter? If it's just the pilot normally they screw on the converter and you can change it out
