Like you, over the years I've watched the '65 - '67 AM/FM's go from $75.00 to $150.00 to $350.00 and said that I would never pay that for a "mono" radio. In the late 90's I did some horse trading to the tune of $1000.00 for my '65 AM/FM. Never used it and around mid 2000's sold it for $1250.00. Now they're all dropping in value. Some of it has to do with guys who would convert a full-size one and scamming people, calling and selling it as an original GTO AM/FM. The other fact is that they should have never been worth more than $350.00

1981 I bought my 65 GTO Basket case.. 3 years later I found a guy parting out a 65 Lemans, it had an AM-FM . I bought it for $30.
It barely works. BUT I have a "thumping motor. Which I would rather hear. It's your ears. Listen to them !

My 66 radio works fine, one front speaker and thats it. I keep thinking of other options with an original look but it's been one of those I'll do it tomorrow things. There is a lot of good stuff out there.
