Default Roller Rockers

What roller rockers do you recommend that are quiet and fit under stock valve covers. This is for a hyd roller cam 219/227 @ .050 and .515/.530 lift @ 1.5 ratio

Not sure about fitting under stock covers, but the Scorpions Aluminum I am using now are quiet, and the Crane Gold aluminum were awesome. I did have a set of off brand ( Omega I think. ) aluminum rockers that sounded like a sewing machine.

I do like my Harland Sharp rockers, but I’m not certain they would fit under stock valve covers. Possibly with doubles up gaskets or risers.

I wouldn’t call them loud, but you can hear them at lower cruise rpms. They sound like a sewing machine.

Harland Sharps fit under the old 60’s-70’s cal custom finned valve covers. I’m not sure if they are any taller than stock covers or not.

I’ve used Norris stainless 1.65 rockers under stock 1967 and later covers and Crower Enduro stainless 1.5 rockers under stock 1964 covers which have less room than the later valve covers.

Harland Sharp 1.75’s fit under my stock valve covers without the oil drippers.

The HS rockers are chunky and may hit the 66-earlier valve covers. Space required also depends on valve lift and valve installed height, which moves things closer to the valve cover. I've found that HS and Crower enduro both fit under the 67-70 valve covers with thick gaskets on iron heads. The polylocks can be tall and be the first thing to hit, use a shorter polylock and it should clear most setups.

I'm trying to avoid the sewing machine noise, sounds like the Harland Sharps are out. This is a street car and it doesn't have loud exhaust so I don't want to be driving around listening to a sewing machine. LOL

My brother 73 406 Camaro has Crane cast alum full roller rockers in it. I would say it has the "sewing machine sound" also, but only noticeable with hood open and head 2-3 feet from engine.

HS makes 3 versions of most of their rockers. I have asked here a couple of times, what folks have used...and they didn't know there was a choice... I have a number for HS, will try to find it.

My Harland Sharp rockers are only slightly noticeable with the hood up. I can’t hear them inside of the car.

I have Harland sharps, they fit under a pretty short valve cover. My motor is noisy than I like, but I don't think its the rockers. If I put a mechanics stethoscope on my valve cover I can hear the rapid sewing machine noise, but cant just from the ear. My noise is farther apart that 16 rockers in action together. Im going to change my header gaskets in the winter and see if that helps. It might be one or two valves slamming closed louder than the others.
