Not really. It goes on my back up engine.

I fooled with a diaper for years and it was aggravating. I built a belly pan this winter and really like it.

Bringing up an old topic.
Just got my DRE diaper today.

Curious as to what it cost the rest of you, shipped to your door.

We got the same one from Vinnie 3 years ago. Great guy to deal with!

We are having the entire front end redone on Jakes Firebird this winter. And a BELLYPAN is one of the things we r doing for sure! Diapers are a Giant PITA!!

My son Jake drives his Firebird everywhere. 2 hrs one way a lot of times. Your not quick installing/removing anything! It’s a PITA!

At my track a non-sfi diaper is mandatory on all cars below 11.0., an sfi diaper for sub 10.0.

I ran a belly pan on my tube chassis car, because it was easy to install.
My new car will have a diaper.

As far as a containment device, I think the diaper would work better, if something let go in the motor. I think it would "contain" more oil than a belly pan.
But for removal and ease of maintenance, of course, the belly pan wins. But if there is oil spewing out of a block and pan, I would feel more comfortable with the diaper. Not sure the pan would catch all the oil. And if the oil gets under your tires, hang on.

Anyway, back to the price, the bill was $570. Yes there is Kevlar and it is considered a "custom" piece. Pontiac. Custom. If I knew the price before hand, I may have considered another source. So, when you read the ad, and it says $169, be wary and ask what the price will be, BEFORE you give your cc number.

Agree a diaper is safer. The amount of oil and water that comes out when things go wrong is alot. I just don't see the belly pan containing it all.

Yep Leech had one, looked it over on the return road at Norwalk after a pass for him, lol. But leech ran a dry sump, not much oil there to come out when you stick a rod out the block since all the oil is in the oil tank. That's one nice feature about dry sumps, 6-8qt of oil isn't in the engine any more.

The diaper can hold a lot of heat in the engine oil. It’s like wrapping a thermal blanket around your oil pan.
