Default 72 GTO 400 motor diagram

Does anyone have a picture or diagram of how the vacuum hoses hook up to my duel snorkel air cleaner. I have the kit they sell and know 2 hoses go to the top and under the cleaner but don't know how the others hook up.

Thanks

Also what is the trick in putting the rally 2 center caps on the wheels without chipping the paint. I tried everything and just can not get it done? these are NOS caps and the springs inside are really strong.

2 screw drivers & some time to play with them , or you can get the locks that go on the back side & keep them from rattling & being stolen too.

Save yourself the frustration and get the locks like Rex said. You won't be able to install them without scratching them. Easily installation with the locks.....you just have to remove the springs.

The locks will also keep them centered & they won't rattle once there on.

Can anyone tell me or send a picture of the vacuum hoses that go on the thermostatic valve located on the intake to where they go on the 400 engine for 72 Gto? This is a original car but forgot to take a picture before I took it all apart,

Thanks

This is an HO motor, but the vac lines are the same. Top hose goes out to charcoal canister. Side goes to carb

Default Dual snorkle vac lines?

Looking at PB's pic, trying to see where the vacuum lines from the dual snorkle air cleaner hook up. None of the three manuals I have show it.

I just read an old thread. Do the two snorkle vacuum lines join in the T fitting, then replug under the air cleaner base itself and that's where it gets it's vacuum source from?

The two hoses T together and then go to the hot air sensor in the air cleaner base. From there the hose goes to a fitting on the intake.

I can only assume, since I have a 72, the vacuum line hooks to the purge valve in the intake? Because the pic shows a single port fitting there. I no longer have that purge valve. Instead, I have a mechanical temp sender there for an aftermarket gauge. Would this even work correctly if I was to plug the vacuum line to the front port on carb? I assume that would be no different than the pic routing. Vacuum all the time. Actually, I have to look at my air cleaner base sensor. I thought it only had one port for a vacuum line not two.

Looked today and yes I do have a two port sensor. So I can hook as described. But, the port I was going to use at the carb base only pulls 2 inches of vacuum at idle. I'm not sure if that's sufficient. The single port shown on intake seems like it would pull more than that.
