Default 1961 Pontiac Star Chief

Life happens....

Nice solid car. 1961 Pontiac Star Chief with a 389 and hydramatic. Pictures speak for the car. Needs a little body work and paint to be real nice.

Has recently received the following new/replacement items:
-New Radiator
-4bbl intake/carb conversion (vintage edelbrock EP4B intake and Edelbrock 600cfm carb)
-130amp alternator conversion
-rebuilt brake booster
-new master cylinder
-new carpet
-New dual exhaust with flowmasters
-new belts
-new timing set
-new water pump
-new fuel pump
-new triple gauge set
-New brake shoes
-Have replacement bumper for the one in the picture

All trim is in the trunk. Original 2bbl setup is in the trunk. I will knock off $300 if you do not want the 4bbl intake and carb.

Runs, drives, and brakes good. Needs a gasket between the downpipe and exhaust manifold replaced.

Questions? Just PM me.

$6500 obo.

any offers? Need to sell to finance another project and outfit new garage with some tools. Might consider partial trades of other pre-1964 cars or even a car hauler.

Last chance on this car. Priced at my absolute bottom dollar, not willing to go a penny less. I've dropped the price $1k to get it moved. I want to buy some new tools for my new garage. If it doesn't sell by the end of the weekend, I'll be removing it from all classifieds and starting in on body work and paint, price only gets higher from there.

Have a second set of wheels with radial tires I have been driving it around on. The original bias-ply tires are crusty. Both sets of wheels/tires included. I also have a pair of fender skirts for this car.

I have been driving this car everywhere for the last few weeks. I have driven it distances in 90+degree weather and the engine never has gotten above 180deg. It loves the road.

Questions? Just PM me.

$5000 and I keep the 4bbl stuff and you reinstall the 2bbl stuff
or
$5300 and you take it with everything.

Thumbs up

My favorite '61 color: Dawnfire Mist.

I'd love a '61 Bonneville wagon in that color combo.

$5k bottom dollar firm with 2bbl stuff. no extras. Good running/driving car. I put about 80mi daily on this car. Can deliver to Norwalk.

Willing to negotiate on fender skirts, and 4bbl parts if interested in them beyond that.

But the car has be reconverted to the 2bbl setup and is currently operating that way.

Front bumper has been replaced with a straight one:

When you decide to part this car out, I'll be interested in the front clip, dash, dash pad, front doors, trunk lid and rear bumper.

Thank you.

If you are serious, I'd be willing to sell as a roller for $4k firm. Would include everything except the engine and transmission and anything that supports engine/trans function (ie: radiator, coil, exhaust, etc). That's as far as I'll go with parting it out. Time=Money, especially with my schedule, so the roller would be cheaper than what I'd end up asking after removal of all the parts you're after anyway.

I'm serious, but I can only use the parts that I've indicated, above.

As I stated, if you part the car, I'm interested. Other items would fetch you good money on ePay.

But truthfully, it's such a pretty color combination, I'd rather see you put it away to restore it at a later date.

Thank you.

If you know of any '62 Grand Prix's that are originally Belmar Red/Cameo Ivory roof, I'll pay up to $650.

It will not be parted beyond a roller. I have neither the time to mess with stripping the car, nor the patience to deal with ebay on so many parts. Truthfully the car is in such good shape and complete it would make me sick to see it stripped. So if it goes, it goes as a roller at minimum so that I don't have to witness it being torn apart.

I have no interest and will have no interest in keeping the car to restore it. My interests are in pre-1958 cars. I received this car in a trade deal.

If you change your mind about wanting it as a roller let me know. Perhaps you can make all the big bucks off extra parts on ebay.

Thanks.

Question

Yes, I'm serious. However, there aren't $4K worth of parts that I need there.

Have you considered taking the car to Norwalk, parking it in the flea market, and posting a sign stating "Parting out. You remove?"

They do that at Englishtown all the time.

Did you get it in Georgia last year?

I saw an add for one there exactly the same condition and colors but it had sold by the time I found it.

Does it still have the original engine and trans?

Default Wrong Car

I finally got to look at the other photos and realize this is not the Georgia car.

Yes, it certainly does have the original motor and transmission.

This car came from an adjoining town as far as I know. Unsure of it's prior location. I have only owned it since about April. If you have any interest in it, let me know. Thanks.
