This car is sitting in a driveway on the way to the girlfriend’s house. It is still owned by the original owner. I'm not 100% sure, but believe it to be a 400ci, not a 455, with the honeycomb wheels. It's definitely a 4spd car. It has white leather interior. The car sits outside all the time, even through the snow during the cold winters here. The original color of the car is almost impossible to tell now. The lady has some dream of fixing it up some day but for now, it sits in her driveway. The whole car is pretty much sitting on the ground as it has four flat tires, and it appears that the suspension is totally shot. The rear frame may have even snapped as I noticed the rear passenger side arm rest is "pushed up" a bit. My dad was looking to purchase the car for the motor and tranny. If possible, the car may be restored. I will try to get a picture of the car without it covered in snow and post it. I'm just curious on what this thing is worth is she does decide to sell it!? Any comments and quotes is appreciated! Thanks!

Well I'll tell ya if its in that bad of shape won't be worth much.I'm restoring a 74 Form 400 and she was in a little better shape than this one you are talking about I think. Mine has been alot of work so far better be sure you know what you are buying nieghbour, she sounds like a parts car to me.Tell her you want it as a parts car. Tell her thats all its worth is maybe $500 to start. Go back a couple of weeks later and offer her the same or $600.That's the route I would go for a cart in that kind of shape. Its been sitting there that long, what's a few more weeks or so to get it cheap.Good luck

Checked one more time on the weekend and she absolutely does not want to sell it. Says she is going to fix it up, so I said, and I quote "You better F@cking hurry up because there is not much left of it now!!" Idoubt that that comment is going to get you anywhere. You gotta play good cop bad cop. Send someone else over to tick her off bad telling her what a pile of junk it is and that he just wants to cut it up and sell parts off of it then wait a few days and you the nice guy tells her what a beautifull car it will be when you get done restoring it to better than new condition. That will work a lot better. Sometimes you can call the city for having a junk car in the yard putting a little more pressure on her.

Hey I agree with the good cop bad cop thing. Only good things come to those who wait!!! Also I agree with phoning Ottawa or what ever area its in and let them know about an abandoned car in a driveway. She will have to move it and store it and that may not be in her plans (money wise). Give it a shot what have you got to loose! The car I have, I watched that car rot in a driveway for six years before I finally got it. When its done (74 Formula 400) this spring I'll post some pics. Is there some sort of law about having a "junk" car in your driveway? I have never heard of this. Would they seriously make her store it or get rid of it?

Oh.....looking forward to the pics too!

The laws depend on where you live. There are certainly laws pertaining to that where I live.

Yes they will make get rid of the car. That is how i scored my 74. The nieghbour to the guy I got the car off of called the city to have it removed. I Walked over and asked him what he was doing and he explained it to me.I asked him what he wanted for it and he said "Get this out of my driveway and you can have her".Floors were gone, rockers bad, and alot of rust to boot. The good thing was she only had 43,000 miles on he,so thats why I said its been alot of work in my first reply. Now where I used to live in Oshawa Ont., they have that by-law. I would imagine Ottawa would too that is the nations capital and they want to keep it looking good don't they? Have a good one!!!
