Yes. My 1977 Trans Am was a radio delete car, and just had a plastic block-off plate where the radio would have gone.

There will be two different types. One plate for 1970-1977, and another for 1978-1981. Also, a Camaro will have a different plate.

I'm interested in purchasing one. As of now, my car has a piece of aluminum over it and if people ask I can tell them this Street Car came with the radio delete option. LOL. Ken, they look just like the radio cover but they do not have holes cut into them. I've seen NOS units go on Ebay, still in the original wrapper, for $200+ 75-down takes a different PN than 76-up.

I don't want to buy the car. Just the plate.

Used? ......... it a street/race car.

Of course we're not real busy, that's because we do it right "the first" time.

If you try to pull this off as "Stock" Radio Delete, you will need a PHS sheet to prove it. Or they will just say you were trying to "Cheat" with the 6 pounds the stock radio weighed...

A better question would be "What stock radio weighed the least?"

You know the old "He doesn't even have a radio in there, how can it be a street car?"

"radio accomodation pkg"...I remember those

For us diehards that chose to listen to the engine play its song, rather than listen to that crap called disco music.

I know in 1978 the radio area of the dash was enlarged to accomodate the "generic" normal sized GM radios of the era, not the F-body only samller radio. The plates are tough to locate, and most were tossed when the cars were new.
