The shadow's obvious, but to me there's a mismatch between the nose and the hood/fenders. Was it common to have mismatched paint because of the endura?

Yes, that is very possible. Today's plastic bumper cars do not match very well from the factory. In fact, all the auto paint stores warn of the mismatch to their customers in advance so they won't be held liable after the fact.

I was thinking about this image earlier today;

With the (relatively) low production numbers of 1970 Trans Am's, I am REALLY surprised that this one dealership had this many TA's - I had understood that many dealers may have sold ONE Trans Am - but not ever had inventory like this...

Given the high quality of the photo and as you say, the unexpected number of TAs, perhaps this was a Pontiac promotional event or advertising photo?

I imagine their proximity to Woodward Avenue had a lot to do with it? Also suspect these were all very early builds, like the "pattern" Judges. Still, they must have been quite confident, or they never would've accepted this many. Wonder if there's a newspaper ad mentioning them...

The blue car really stands out amongst all the white ones.

Great picture, thanks for posting!

Clohecy called themselves Michigan's #1 Pontiac dealer. And at least one of the fifty-five '69 RAIV Trans Ams was sold there.

Nice addition to the thread.

And apparently, the lowly Tempest needed to be talked about separately... LOL !!

/\ wasn't that the "bread and butter" model - meaning the highest seller?

I list Clohecy's last year as '72, but this signage was still there at least as late as 2017:

I wonder how many of them still survive.

A car collector told me in the late 1990’s that he bought a nice ‘70 TA some time before I met him (he was my boss at the time);
He told me that he bought the car to sell, and had a real hard time selling it:
From my observation, these cars have only become high dollar cars in the last fifteen to twenty years.

When I got my Formula (1995), a same year, same drive train GTO would have garnered probably double the money.

When I purchased my ‘69 T/A in the late 80’s I could have purchased a 1970 for about 1/2 the price. The SD’s weren't going that high either. The last 20yrs things have really changed…

Those are bare grease caps.. Since I did set ups on Birds with Ralleys, I have seen this and installed them at set up.

I find it interesting that Nobody has said " Those tires are NOT factory"
Lots were Goodyears all through the 70's, and Uniroyals, and General's.
Most folks will say "My car came with the BFG's and that's whats on it now"
Original pics tell the story, always nice to have them.

We have a very original 72 Trans Am with firestone wide ovals. These cars in pic are probably all RAIII TAs
, according to my information, no RAIV 70 TAs came out of that area. The only one in the state of Michigan was the blue automatic from South Haven area. The one that was on Hemmings’s auction a couple months ago. But you never know for sure with the possibility of dealer swaps.
