Only those from 67-69 Camaros or 68-72 Novas (up to 74 will fit, but I doubt any 12 bolts were installed in those).

Probably gonna be expensive!

The 67 12 bolts are set-up for mono springs. I have one got it for $500.00 in 94. Sold the Factory traction bar on it on Ebay for $150.00.

I have a 68 bird with a 12 bolt in it. I have it at a friends house in storage out in Stillwater right now. I think I'll be working on it this weekend and I may be able to get some numbers off the rearend which if decoded properly would tell you what it came from.

Wide variety of two letter ID codes on the early Camaro 12 bolts. The rare JL8 equipped rears even received their own two letter codes.

Have quite a few 12 bolt Camaro housings in the racks. Build the posi coded ones for high point resto use & build the peglegs up for whatever customer wants.

To be a direct bolt-in, the 12bolt rear wil need the Spicer 1330 U-joint yoke.

I just went through a 12 bolt build up for my 69 TA. I know it's not stock but hey that's what I wanted. I'm keeping the original just in case I decide to sell. Anyway, I used a 12 bolt from a 69 Z-28 that I bought off e-pay. Ouch but I'm somewhat lazy when it comes to searching and didn't want to screw around for months to find one and still end up paying a fortune.

Anyway, my advise is to make sure you check the leaf spring perch angle long with the width. The front spring mounts on 67-69 firebirds and camaros sit inboard of the frame rail. Therefore, the leaf springs don't sit straight in the car. Instead, they point a little inboard toward each other at the front. If you buy one that doesn't have the correct perch angle, be prepared to weld on a new set of perches in order for everything to bolt up properly.

As for the rest, I went with moser axles, richmond ring and pinion, eaton carbon fiber clutches, eaton, 800# preload springs, all new bearings and seals, stainless lines and e-brake cables, a chrome moly 1350 series pinion yoke and a TA performance cast rear cover. Looks sharp!!

Take your time and gather all the info you can before you open your wallet. Good luck and let us know how things turn out.

Without having to go out and measure, what is the length of a '68 rear? I'm looking to get a 9" ford housing and I need to know the size.

TIA!!

69 pontiac 10 bolt did not utilize the c-clips. It was positively retained with no need for c-clip eliminators. If your building a street strip car the 10 bolt would hold up fine. If your strickly racing then the heavyer 12 would live longer.

SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM

Im putting together a .040 455 with Edelbrock heads (72cc), Eagle Rods, FLAT top J&E Pistons for 12:1, Harland sharp roller Rockers, Fluidampner, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and 750 Demon Carb. "GOT TRACTION"

800# clutch preload springs = $60
12 bolt carrier/pinion/axle install kit -w- carbon fiber clutches, bearings, seals, crush sleeve, new gears, bushings, spider shaft, pin retainer = $216
Used but perfect 3 series Eaton Carrier = $50
Stainless E-brake cables = $290
Stainless rear axle brake lines = $35
Stainless braided flex hose = $35
Raybestos Brake Drums = $172.62

3/8"-1" Grade 8 bolts = $6.24
TA Performance rear cover = $159.95
TA performance rear stud Kit = $19.95
Denny's Chrome moly pinion yoke = $120
