Darn! I'm not getting the notifications since the board was converted, and yes, it's set in the user CP. Anyway...

Will:
Yes, 9" out back, and just got a new Moser housing & axles with GM bolt pattern, hence, will be buying new wheels! Ans sure, I dream about the Fiske's too! Even the HREs! Anyway, I rolled the lip on the front & rear, and trimmed the inner fender wells up front to squeeze them in. I'm probably going to go with 18s this time around, and want to make 315s fit in the rear, 275 or 285s in the front. Not sure how it will come together, since I just got a Baer GT+ setup. We'll see though!

Pro-Tour79:
Yes, they do make 295s, those I believe were Yokos. I'll probably use the ROH RTs, the 9s have a 5" back, and the 10s have a 5.75 back. Both 18s. I'm not happy with the tire selection in 18s though, and would prefer using 17s actually.

All:
I'm getting real close with this round of building, (13th engine, cross fingers!) concentrating on the engine right now. I have a IA2, crower crank, crower steel billet rods (not the sportsman ones), e-heads, a tomahawk going EFI with the new XFi ECU, and a D1 procharger (intercooled of course). Just got my Keisler kit with a new TKO600, pretty excited about that. (got a ticket in the wife's Maurader on the way down in triple digits! Arg! Should have shipped it!).

FYI: The pic you see in this thread is from the '99 East Coast Power Tour at the end, in Panama City. I thrashed for 5 weeks going through the drivetrain and converting to EFI. That was a 60 over 55, roller, and it saw NO mercy! Stock rods do live over 6500 RPM, just not long! Oh but it was fun!

Hey, I thought long and hard about if I should paint the heads or not... (And no, those aren't Comp chevy rockers, they're the nice Crower ones...)

for the fella who needs baer brake info - post or email anything you'd like to know; i can also offer you or any py lister a great deal on baer brakes.
i'm going 13", pbr, red powdercoated, drill/slot/zinc (they look awesome and i wont use em hard enough to worry about any cracking); i have seriously abused the baers on my syclone, and haven't had issues, btw - i mean, really, really, seriously...

That is the best looking 17" wheel/tire combo I've seen on a 2nd gen. I think it's more due to the tire size than the rims, I think any rim with a decent dish to it and tires that don't give it that rubber band look will work. It's just I think that's the first time I've seen a tire size that doesn't look too small in 17"...

exactly what i was gong for.
by the numbers, the rears are 28" and the fronts 27.xx".
i wanted a front same height as the old 255/60-15's; these were on by the math but in life are about 5/8 taller.

for the record, the white crap everywhere is primer/sealer!

SpeedShopMike, regarding the Baer info:

Haven't mocked it up yet, but I've heard that running the Baer GT+ stuff adds like 1/2", pushing the wheel out. Is that true? The kit I have also uses the 2" drop spindles, not sure if that makes a diff or not. Reason I wonder, is because all my previous tire/rim/offset info would be skewed....

teh baer kit adds .08" per side to the track width.
it all comes pre-assembled on spindles.
baer offers drop spindles as an option, or you could send in yours.

the wheels are by coys.
i sell 'em if anyone wants.

-mike

Ah, well, .08" is nothing then, I shouldn't loose sleep over it! I did get the drop spindles, and will be using the GW tubular lowers, so, I may still have to mock it up before I buy tires. Thanks a ton SpeedShopMike!

Those sure look good mike and I can see the superior breeding of such a fine animal has paid off! Is it the "co-piloting" or does he just drive better and you take all the credit. I see how it REALLY is! I'm pulling for you Scruffy! The "man" is always down on the little guy.

scruffy, whose ass i saved going into work during rush hour by blocking all lanes of a major road by pulling across them all in my truck and grabbing her, not only copilots but also is an excellent horn honker, and her hobbies include food, trying to jump out of moving car windows, and sleeping.
she earns her keep viciously and fearlessly guarding the speedshop while i'm sleeping on the counter between customers.
further, if i wasn't married, she would get me laid more often then a 5 dorrar hooker who do suckiesuckie (those who dont watch south park will have to forgive that) given the attention she gets from the less hairy sex.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Funnier T.S.! Sounds like the effort to save her paid off! She's a good buddy and she has the same hobbies as me but I gave up the moving car jumping in high school. So you say she's single and responds well to attention from the opposite sex, huh... hmmm...??? I wounder if my personality profile will match her's on E-harmony??? LOL!!!!!!!!

Default Coys - Can't Find Them

Speedshopmike, your web page (from your public profile) is down. Those wheels look great! I, too, hate the rubber band look.

Think those would fit on my 66 GTO?

I am pretty sure the rear tires and wheels could be made to work (about the same size as a 275/60R15 with the 28 inch height), but I don't know about the fronts.

I have never heard of Coys before, and a Google search turned up nothing . . .
