I knew there had to be a letter in there - just didn't have enough detail in my pictures.

1/2" long, hex head, coarse thread, self tapping, black phosphate

RicksGTO,

That is a great picture of what I need. Does anyone have any or repop these hex head screws? I probably can find close matches if not.

I might have to get a RA air cleaner and the bellows (seals) for the hood just to complete the package since the scoops are already opened up.

Boss, thanks for the screw specs.

Transam1972,

The carpet is surprisingly nice and in good shape, just faded. I will just clean and reinstall and, like you said, and get nice floor mats to protect the carpet.

Thanks, Dennis

I have an extra RA cleaner with studs if interested. Refurbished by Norwood or it's still untouched...

Mike,

Could you PM me some pics a dollar figure for the RA cleaner?

Chris,

I'd be interested in used boots too in good condition if you have some. Please PM me with what you need for them.

Thanks, Dennis

Norwood calls it an original dipped lacquer paint one.

...that looks to be a nice unit and the stud no stud thing (repop does not) is a bit of a pain...I would need to compare an original vs. a repop and test fit for a final verdict...the same with a T/A 70 single snorkel & 71-72 dual snokel, dual thermac repop....I have yet to hear the final verdict on an original car..it looks nice in the photos...I know that NORWOOD restores original air cleaners

Default Vinyl Top is Incorrect Color and Grain, Sooooo...

.....we made the decision to remove the rubber top since it is not an original factory color (#7 Dark Brown, which is almost black) and the grain looks like the big texture found on the Mopar tops. I don't like the high contrast to color roofs, so we are going to repaint the car all Canyon Copper.

Really considering repainting the entire car and repair the right rear corner where it looks like it was lightly hit and the old repairs are showing themselves. The RR taillight was replaced with a '73 dated unit.

More to come....Dennis

Default Mission Creep

Mission creep

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Mission creep is the expansion of a project or mission beyond its original goals, often after initial successes. Mission creep is usually considered undesirable due to the dangerous path of each success breeding more ambitious attempts, only stopping when a final, often catastrophic, failure occurs. The term was originally applied exclusively to military operations, but has recently been applied to Dennis Jensen's new 1971 455 HO Formula."

I may have to start/organize a twelve-step program for this disease. MPD and I can facilitate.

I'll give you a hand with that one - it WILL involve burnouts.

I think I know what you're saying Chris. But, it had a double meaning in HS.

While you're at it Dennis get some comfort weave in those seats too...

Default Mission Creep!!!!

OMG! You are right, I've got a really bad case of MC. If you didn't alert me to this terrible stealthy disease, I would have fallen off the edge of no return.

Thanks for slapping me to my senses, so now I can spend money and feel the pain.

The creep is in high gear around the 455HO Garage on the car and I'm looking forward to getting this baby on the road this summer. It really needs new paint and the few body issues repaired, but the car deserves it. 455HO Formulas are on the verge of going big in the marketplace with only 2 year production and less than 600 made with and without RA.

Dennis
