Default Chief in Bristol

I know it's old news and it's been a while, but I just watched Street Outlaws Bristol. Chief crushed them boys! That Pontiac is outrunning cars with 900+ cid engines. Respect the Pontiac!

That was fun to watch, kinda hurt for Shane, two cars in a year.

Over 1,200 hp on a No Prep surface is kinda stupid if you ask me, it’s kinda asking for trouble.

That was a great show! Its great that Justin has brought respect to traditional Pontiac engines. That show has better ratings than NHRA racing. lol.

That was an awesome show!! I do have to laugh, 482 c.i. Pontiac with Eheads wrecking all those big inch motors.
I do love Monza's Camaro and Poor Shanes Vega

Of all people my wife has become a huge fan of the show. She stayed up and watched it until the end at 11:30, on a work night.
We're about 2-1/2 hours from Bristol, said she'd have gone if she'd known about it back then. But from what I read was so many people showed up they had to turn people away, and the track seats 25,000 people.
She hated SO NOLA and refused to watch any episode JJ from Memphis was on so there's no way we'll be watching the new Memphis show, I can't stand that guy either.
Last night was a great show, and it's what I said a couple seasons ago, it's not so much the racing, which is good, but it's the people in the 405 that make it work. Racing on the street or a no prep track, there's no difference from a viewer stand point. That track was very slick and sketchy though.

What's strange is that the fact that it's Pontiac powered and never "promoted". The other drivers reveal what's under the hood but nothing from Chief........

He regularly discusses the little "punk small block Pontiac" on other show episodes and the podcast.

I really enjoyed that show...... took a lot of blood sweat and tears to get the Pontiac back into action.....

I laughed out loud when Justin said he was just going to buy a new rear for Murder Nova because he was not getting THAT one back.....

My first thought was the Nova was prob running more gear but I know nothing about cars at that level or rpm. If it's faster and not spinning above his comfort zone then maybe he found what it likes. One comment he made I didn't like and it was something about the big ugly wing. Sounded a little disrespectful of Martys car. Obviously his car now but still a legend in the Pontiac community

That was no disrespect to Martys old car (theres not much left of it anyways), rear wings like everything else come & go.........its a style....fad....like Bell Bottoms. Whats cool one years is out of date the next.

The Wing was put on the car for a reason.
The car ran 5 second Quarter Mile Times at Tucson Arizona (higher altitude and in the heat) and the car was stable and safe to drive.

If you watch the videos on the web (Bristol for example) Chief goes down the track in a very stable manner these days and I personally believe the wing has a lot to do with that stability.

Wind Tunnel Testing helps but the final word is how well the car goes down the track at 220+ mph. Marty's car could run at those speeds without issues. Chief has changed other things on the car but the aero package is basically the same as when Marty ran the car.

I also believe it is a lot better package for Chief vs the Stretched Firebird stuff he ran previously.
