So what is the general consensus of how many RA2 GTO’s are still out there tucked away? Anyone ever try to do registry?

The only one I have even heard of for sale in years was that rough one on Ebay a few years ago. Went for around 40K if I remember right without a motor and needing everything. Obviously Pontiac did not make many, but the RAIV is fairly rare also and you see at least one for sale every week and at every major auction.

I would guess only about a couple dozen - there are 10 that I've come across or heard about reliably over the years. 3 auto's, 7 4spds.

Less than 200 made...I believe. Or maybe that was 4-speed posts..Either way...damn! Ron BTW...I received no less than four inquiries on my RA II heads after this post! Folks are finally catching on! Can't get anything past these PY'ers!

Here is a list of 68 RA I and II VIN's I have collected off of the internet and Ebay.
The RA I's are rather rare too. So if a registry was started why not include them too?

VIN PNT TRIM

1. 242378P193301 N2 223 = RA I
2. 242378P27XXXX AA 223 = RA I ?
3. 242378R1XXXXX Q8 223 = RA I ?
4. 242378B126361 AA 223
5. 242378B126731 QQ 223
6. 242678B130848 A2 221= #2 Above The black convertible
7. 242378P32XXXX QQ 223
8. 242678P328876 N1 224
9. 242378B1XXXXX DD 219
10. 242378B136340 QQ 221 = #11 Above The RA II from ebang
11. 242378P346122 GG 223

I have info on close to 400 68 GTO's, LeMans, Tempest, with PHS info 65 of them. I have a large database of info. Of course we all know who has the ultimate list, but JM isn't parting with it any time soon? Scott

I seen ( & know of) a Ram Air II FB Convertible. Definitely not-for-sale. That's about if for IIs.

Of all the SD, HO and Round-port stuff. I'd get into a set of Ram Air II Heads & Manifolds since I have settled on 1968-only for my main ride.. PM me if you gots a set of 1968 RA II heads to sell.

Muscle-Collector,

I first learned about my car back in 1984. A guy that I worked with owned the car and said it was a RA IV. I told him that they didn't make a IV in 68 therefore it had to be a II. After years of asking him to let me see the car he finally did. And on March 3, 1992, I sent in the vin number to have the car verified. Certianly it came back as a RA II car. I didn't purchase the car until 1995. At the time I thought it was cool but certainly didn't think it would be such a sought after car.

When I purchased the car I immediately started taking it apart to begin the restoration. Long story, but I didn't take any pictures of the dissasembly. Then soon realized that raising young children took more time than I thought so the car and parts sat in storage for many years. About a 1 1/2 years ago I got the frame out of storage and restarted the restoration. The frame is done and ready to go back into storage and bring the body home for its repairs.

It is a 4 speed convertible with Flambeau Burgundy with Parchment Interior and a White Top. The engine and trans were numbers matching. Parts that were missing are, carb, rearend and exhaust manifolds. I now have all of the correct parts for the restoration.

The ebay car that I was referring to is the one with no engine or trans and not the other.

Take Care,

74SDFormula,

Can you tell us who owns this car in Georgia? Does it have the PHS?

Thank You,
