That '69 is a VERY nice car and I'm not even a convertible guy. I like that one a lot. Color is great.

That's interesting. I never heard of a '69 with the Pink Mist special order. I have seen examples of a GTO, LeMans and Firebird in that color but all were '68s.
I was searching and found this old thread. Turns out, it's the same car. https://firstgenfirebird.org/forums/...=305992&page=1

I think this car is a good deal. Nicely optioned 69 Firebird convert that's been hit on the passenger's side. The good parts on this are many. $12.8K BIN in Illinois.

I really like the '69. Love the color combo and the look of it but it's hard to tell how much structural damage there is. $12.8K for the '69 as opposed to $20K for the '68. Hard to tell which one would be more work.
Check out the interior ps quarter panel in this pic...

Looks way too nice for the price, wonder what the deal is? Appart from the automatic it is pretty compelling .looking car. The trunk pan shot looks like factory speckle, that says a lot. A PHS with a Los Angeles original dealer is also a good indication.
Maybe a scam?

Nice TA.
Interesting that the shipped date is 2-18-70 (for the born on date thread, long gestation? ) and the door sticker has a 10-69 date. So this TA sat for awhile possibly in zone storage. (it's on the PHS also) Or maybe a company car? Would be nice to see the cowl tag for it.

It does appear to be a pretty nice car. Did you happen to notice the sunroof?

Good eye! I didn’t catch that (lousy pics seen on my small phone screen).
I have a friend who has a very solid and numbers matching 70 TA with a 4 speed. Needs a full resto but it had a power sunroof and a aftermarket AC added back in the day. He’ll probably die with it because he doesn’t have the financial or talent resources to do what needs doing and he won’t sell. Back to this 69, looks like someone got a good deal if there were no other surprises. A good body man could graft a donor roof off a first gen F body or even weld in just a patch.

70 GTO RAIV one of 81 built. Reserve at $4K with a BIN of $12k.
What do you guys think of cars like this 70 GTO RAIV? Sure it's rare, but without the drivetrain it not worth restoring at $12K IMO if you wanted to make a profit. I have 3 rare Pontiacs all without the original blocks and from what I've observed, if it's not a born with block, it really doesn't matter what Pontiac engine you use. The cost of restoring this would be huge. |
