Probably an illusion...I've noticed that photos can sometime exaggerate that 'pushed in' look and that's probably what the case is here.

Yeah, it looks fine and actually, looking at it in person is the only way to tell. There is so much going on in that area on these cars that photos can definitely be misleading.
I can look at the 'beak' to valence area on dozens of cars and the angle of that point looks different from car to car and photo to photo. To be honest, I don't even know for sure if it's supposed to be exactly 'plumb', vertically speaking. I worked quite a bit on mine to get it there but it still has a slight angle to it. Compare the old original pic..

Oh no, and that's definitely not me standing next to it! It's a photo someone posted to the forums at some point. I always save photos like that when the pop up. I posted it because you can see that the nose appears more vertically plumb that my restored one.

My car has it's original never hit front bumper, and the original angle
is close to vertical but not quite. The picture of the verdoro green car is how it should look. The turquoise car's bumper has hit something at some point and has been tweaked. |

Yes, the Turquoise car is mine and I worked long and hard to get it that straight. One of those things that I thought was right but wish I'd pushed a little harder on it.
I have a photo somewhere of me using a pipe, a chain and a Dodge Ram to pull the bottom of the nose out. Actually, I wonder if I had it straighter but it gradually may have reverted just a bit.

What filler are you using? Looks like the color of Rage Gold.

That's what I normally use & it looks the same. Most fillers have that off white gray look to them. Once I started using a high quality filler I never looked back. Rage gold sands like butter. Well, figuratively anyway....... Plus, you can use it right to the bottom of the can.
Looking good BTW, It will be interesting to see if you finish your car before me. While I am still working on it every week, but your closing the gap pretty quickly

My short term goal is to paint the car by the end of April. After that, I may be stuck for a while. I want to buy all new wiring (about $1400) and I need a new top. Not sure how much that will be.
How far along are you?

Had my rolling chassis & drive train completely done many years ago. In fact almost embarrass to say it was well over a decade ago. I was where you are now about 2 years ago on body work & painted it 18 months ago. Was just about to drop the body back on the frame before christmas & realized I wasn't happy with all the pit marks in the frame. Didn't bother me when I first completed that phase. So, I tore the chassis back down & started filled little pit marks. Now I am final sanding & will be painting the frame within the next week. I'll start a thread one of these days, I have endless pictures....
Why the new harness? Can't be repaired?

I suggest M&H for your harness needs. Correct factor color wires and connectors.
Used them for my 68 I had.

I did talk to them about wiring the whole car. That's who said $1400. Tax return will be soon so I may do that

X2 on M and H . You can buy from a few vendor at a discount price . I know Ames/ summit and Jegs all sell. Not a huge difference but cheaper than buying direct. I had a few question when hooking mine in and there C/S department/ tech was fantastic. Doug
