Default HEI

Is there a bolt on HEI that looks OE for the OHC?

Too bad that there isn't a company like this for our OHC 6's. This company is what Primatech was supposed to be before they imploded.

I don't believe that this can be adapted to our engine, but maybe someone would know more than I.

Pertronix does offer a hotter coil and wires to carry the charge. If I installed those and some better plugs would I get a better spark and performance?

I have several options
pertronics
Mallory Dual life
Mallory unilite
Mallory electronic
66 TI
67 CDI

Tom Langdon also made an HEI by using a small cap one and grafting it to a OHC-6 base.

I have a couple of Tom Langdon HEI's on my cars, both done efore there was a Pentronix option. The ones I have are the large cap style. And work very well. I am sure he would make one with the small style HEI, but it would be costly. And he would need a Core to convert.

I do have a couple 1bbl cores BUT after quickly learning that all of this would be a major change away from stock and the dollars involved I have scrapped it.

Maybe someday with the spare motor I have I can look into it.

Just something to think about, I understand the Time and $$$ thing myself, but Tom Langdon is in his 70's now, still in good health, but I do not know if he will be around in a couple of years or if he ould still be able to do the work. Just something to think about. He has a ton of knowlage about these engines as he drag raced them for over 10 years.

If you wanted, you could have done Waste-spark for half the coil count.

And HALF the cool factor. For what it's worth I got those coils and brackets on the engine in the picture for around $15 total at a junkyard. I have 4 spares as well if for some reason one or two or so don't work (unlikely).

Best idea I've seen to run ~60psi of main pressure and still control lash adjuster pressure accurately. Honestly, if it wasn't for the ability to isolate it like that I probably wouldn't be building the engine, as when I go turbo I'd be real nervous capping the oil pressure in the 30's.

I'm not engineer'er enough for that. I only have rudimentary fabricating skills at best.
