Then you have a M/T Blown tempest dragster, a rail with 2 Tempest 4 Cyl motors & here is one from the phoenix area with a Tempest 4 cyl with an adaptor plate with a chevy 409 valve cover on it.
Thanks for the pictures. very cool!

Mine is just a stock thick block crank. The thin blocks come with a very noticeable weaker crank... There 10lbs lighter too........

Thought I heard it bouncing off a limiter!!

I dont know how big a stroke you can shove in one of these. I know Mickey Thompson stroked them. Here is a couple pictures of one of his Tempest motors with a large curved plate bolted to the left side of the block. I can only assume it is for crank/rod throw clearance. Also is a cool way of checking out the inside!!! .060 overbore with stock stroke is an even 200CI. Should be pretty easy to go with a custom crank & a 2" rod end & stroke it another 1/4" without any internal interference. Dont quote me on that, just numbers out of my head. CRS may be kicking in.

Keith,
I had a real WTF moment when I saw the 409 rocker cover on the 195. What kind of ets does it run? Injected on alcohol?

A ninety degree crank will be odd-fire... period. Doesn't matter what firing order you build the cam to do.

Keith- Is the "expanded crankcase" engine the one that they put a steel plate on top of the block to allow for a huge stroke? I don't remember just how huge- 5" or more? All I remember for sure is Fritz telling about not being able to get dyno results, due to the horrible shaking!

As for that burnout... track prep left something to be desired...

Jack,,,Here is a front view of that motor. Looks like it has at least 1/2" maybe 3/4" plate between block & head.

Sometimes those plates are for the hole the rod made in it. Lol! But i see what you're talking about with the way its rased up.....
