Very cool I must say! I admire the ones that choose megasquirt...smart group of people. Looks nice with the ford sensor installed. Being new to fuel injection and not considering myself all too smart with this stuff, I'm thinking the FAST distributor, cd box and single coil will be easiest for me to play around with.

Accuracy is a relative term based on your personal opinion for tolerances. It won't be any more inaccurate than a conventional distributor and they have worked for decades and for lots of engines making serious power. The benefit of a crank trigger over this is pretty much eliminating the play induced from the timing chain slack/stretch and in a minor sense cam twist.

When checking timing on the ECU against a timing light, just be sure to be checking it as the engine rpm's are raising so you know the timing chain slack is taken up. That way when at WOT and making power the timing will be what you are commanding.

Been a while since I posted on this thread. Ended up moving and put my car at my dads new house.

Anyways, I just started looking at ecu's recently. What would the megasquirt recommend for an ecu at the point where I'm at?

What would I do to connect a megasquirt to the FAST dual sync and holley dual pump?

Again, here is what I have so far...
Holley Dominator twin fuel pump
FAST Dual sync distributor
Edelbrock 4500 EFI Victor manifold
Fuel regulator, filters, relay, and some other small items

MegaSquirt has provisions to connect a cam, crank and Fuel pump.

When it comes to MegaSquirt it's just a matter of how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go. They all do simple batch fire and ignition control from a distributor.

If you want full sequential on a V8, and/or 8 coil packs, then go with an MS3/3x or MS Pro.

If you want things like launch control, nitrous controls, torque converter lock up, and several other potential options, then you need to delve a little deeper into each MegaSquirt's (well MS1, 2 and 3's) capabilities to see what fits your goals best. MS3x does a whole lot of things and the list is currently getting longer as development is on going. Both my Skylark and Firebird run MS3x's.

Thanks for the response Mr. Buick. I like megasquirt and admire the smart people that utilize their systems.

Still haven't done any work on my car yet but picked up another piece to my car puzzle. Got a FAST 4500 throttle body and ordered the FAST coil and ignition box kit yesterday. I'll post "show n tell" pics once the ignition setup comes in the mail.

Another piece of the puzzle. Waiting until I can afford some more stuff for the install so I can do work. Haven't seen much on the Internet about this ignition so we'll how it goes for me.

Nice setup krisr, I wish aluminum heads were an option for me but I have to stick with iron heads at the moment. My goal is KRE high port heads. I see you have a 4150 version of the Edelbrock Victor manifold similar to mine...that should save you money on a throttle body and provide space on your project.

I just picked up a FAST XFI computer from someone's unfinished project so it's basically brand new. Next things I'll be chasing down are fuel injectors, fuel line, wire harness, and sensors.

My numbers matching '79 Trans AM 400 W72 engine waiting to be EFI'd. The original distributor is available for sale if anyone is interested.

Haven't posted in a while but I'm getting close enough on parts to work on the install.

Items picked up recently...
Spectra GM201FI fuel tank that has a Walbro fuel pump and sending unit inside (Sold the Holley pump).
FAST main harness, Chevy firing order harness, fan/fuel pump harness, map sensor, air temp sensor and water temp sensor.
Jegs oil separator kit for the PCV
55lb fuel injectors

Any suggestions for how to run fuel line from tank to the engine bay and back?

Use OE line routing. Why is this a question? Am I not reading it correctly?

It will change once you reach the firewall. I run mine up the firewall distribution block/ Regulator and then flex hose to rails.

I recall having to modify the tank lines and used quick disconnect AN fittings on the tank lines.

I was in question because I have only seen 3/8" pre bent line and I do plan on making a good amount of power on E85. Not sure if anyone has any good or bad experience with certain lines from manufacturers. I'll probably end up just ordering 3/8" stainless from Jeg's or some other parts distributor.

TAKID455, I believe I purchased the 4500 intake from you a while back?

yes you did.

Your best bet is making your own lines. Look into XRP or Aeroquip for hoses and fittings. You want alcohol resistant seals and hoses.

3/8 S/S is tough to bend and flare with cheap hand tools. May need to step up to Ridgid benders and Eastwood or Mastercool for flaring tools. Worth every penny.

Got the main harness and fan/fuel pump harness today. It's a GM LT1/Carb Conversion main harness and is very close to the LS1. Just test fitted everything on a table. The camera lens on my phone is scuffed up from being 2.5 years old so I apologize about the clarity.

For anyone interested in the FAST 4500 throttle bodies. Their website lists that it has Ford style TPS and IAC. This is actually a GM LT1 style TPS and IAC sensor that comes on the throttle body. FAST uses GM style sensors on their stuff. Once again, going about their parts requires an LT1/carb conversion style harness.
