Hoping mine does better, I will now have the insert washers and my last set of Cometic's I did spray with copper and the results were worse then dry so that's what I will be doing this time.
Guess I am leaving a bunch on the table with 21 degrees at 21 psi and low 11's for A/F but I don't rev past about 5500 so I send more time near the torque peak.
I had the T washers and all of them sunk into the head..

One other thing I learned is keeping the head gasket bore as close to the size of the cylinder bore. I tried it with the gasket being bigger so it was layed back from the edge of the bore and it always leaked more then being really close to the bores edge..

When im at 21 psi I always ran 26 degrees.

But that's me and the best way if you ask me is to bring the car to a chassis dyno an turn the timing up until the power gains aren't that much then turn it down until the power starts falling off then just set it in the middle and be safe. What the sacrifice of a few hp to keep your motor alive...

I gained something like 70 hp from 6000 to 6500. So you most likely have a lot left in your motor..

So how far are the sleeves pressed into the holes, do they stop on a ledge?

I don't know Charlie, but I have had a Turbo Pontiac since 2005, it's a sickness you can't recover from. LOL

I have posted many times: Boost is an addiction, once you have experienced it, you never leave it, you are always looking for a few more PSI, and it scares the crap out of you a LOT if you are running any real boost at all. (If you are honest about the whole deal).

But never get crazy with Ignition Timing as it will make you pay big time and no mistakes allowed. You can cheat a bit on the fuels and get away with averages for them but with Timing ---- At one Total Timing number you are "OK", and you add a degree more Timing and you are carrying your chit home for a rebuild.

Engine HP assuming a 15% loss thru the drivetrain/tires is:

612 x 1.15 = 703 HP divided by 200 cid = 3.51 HP per cubic inch on a engine dyno.

Basically with boost and a V8 engine and Charlie's set-up he would have a 1400+ HP street car with 2 turbos and a 400 cid engine.

I did the pressure check with the .81 A/R. I made 6 pound decrease @ 30 psi. was 38 now 32. 35 psi was 44 now is 40. 40 psi was 57 now is 50. So I think it was a good change. 40 now has a problem keeping the tire hooked in the middle of second gear. Never did that before. So maybe its making more power, I don't know . Feels good though. Wish we had a track here id be running in place at the gate......

Be careful of the accessory holes for the alternator and stuff . My guy went too deep on one and it went into one of those holes.
