Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson died last week from heart disease.

Also on Sunday, long time Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield died of brain cancer.

Yea, tough weekend for us New England sports fans. Wakefield was a great person and did a lot for the community.

Francis also wrestled in the WWF back in the mid 80's. I recall watching him as a child play for those awful Patriot teams.

Dick Butkus died at age 80, his wife of 60 years by his side. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ago-bears-dies I grew up during the Minnesota Vikings "purple people eater" era and well remember the games they played against the Bears.

Seems the news of Butkus' demise may have lit a flame under the Bears.

And the other guy with him was Richard McSpadden, who was VP of the Air Safety Institute at AOPA and a very accomplished pilot, including commander of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

What’s crazy about that airplane crash is you’re always taught by the air safety institute to land straight out in an emergency on take off. So many instructors will try to make the impossible turn though.
It’s far more survivable straight out because you can fly the airplane to the ground Vs the chance of an aerodynamic stall. It’s hard to not turn back to that field though you always think you can make it. Few ever do .
